Happy Homemaker Monday 1.23.2017

Happy Homemaker Monday 1.23.2017

Good Morning, I hope you had a great weekend. We did not do much. My daughter had a lot of studying to do and my hubby has been under the weather.  So we mostly stayed close to home relaxing, watching movies and of course football. I think at least for myself I needed to just take it easy - It has been a tough start this month. We celebrated both my FIL and Mommas anniversaries and just attended two funerals in one week. My hubby's aunt and a Dear Friend of mine.

The Weather... right now its a sunny 45 degrees, very nice day.
This weekend was very windy along with lots and lots of rain.

On my reading pile... My Bible

On my T.V....
I am still re-watched a couple of shows and movies with hubby after kids are in bed.
  • Longmire
  • An Unfinished life
  • Jane Got A Gun
The last two I stumbled upon and so glad I did, they are really good. Check them out if your looking for a good Netflix movie. Do you notice a cowboy/western theme? unintentional but I do love a good western, probably because I grew up watching them with my Dad. My hubby I would say is not into westerns but he liked both of these movies and is still into Longmire- 3 in a row! I feel like I should win a prize. Now if I can just get him to watch Gunsmoke, Bonanza, and The Rifleman I'd be a happy camper.

On the menu this week...
M - Breaded baked chicken with potatoes and green beans
T - Taco Salads
W- Chicken Enchiladas with Mexican Rice & Refried Beans
T - Picadillo with Sopa
F - Chinese or Pizza (depending if we stay in or go out)

On my to do list...
Take care of and baby hubby who is home sick, so besides Laundry not sure how much I will get done, but on list is...
Laundry: All bedding, blankets, whites and towels.
Dust/Windex
Sweep & Mop Floors
Vacuum
Bathrooms: swish & swipe/Sinks and counters
I had planned on cleaning out linen closet and rearranging some holiday tubs in garage but I think I'll hold off till tomorrow.

What I am sewing, crocheting, knitting or creating...
Not much at all, I have been trying to get going so to speak on my "me time" but have been in a funk...
Planner: I am struggling with planner peace, wanting to try switching to a TN since I love the Planner Perfect method, but 1. I LOVE lists and use everyday. 2. I can not bring myself to spend so much cash on a TN (until I know Ill use it) and 3. I already have started using my recollections and do not want to waste inserts.
Bible Study: - I still do on my own every morning and WWL but I am missing my ladies...I'm part of a group of wonderful ladies (Plan Live Love Ministries) I usually watch Live on Periscope but have had to watch re-plays two days I've not been home and the other days Periscope would not work for me -wouldn't load correctly.
Crochet: Have picked up twice. : (

Looking around the house... clean but missing our Christmas tree
I am late in putting up decorations for valentines day. I was going to try to do today but maybe tomorrow.

 From the camera...
Nada...I know I'm in a funk if I haven't even picked up my camera or taken any photos.

Something fun to share...
Although this past week was pretty sad I did find many blessings in that we got to see family that we have not seen in a long time - also I use to work at an Elementary School- that's where I met my dear friend Cindy. She was sooooo Loved I knew it would be a packed house but I didn't think that seeing so many of my past co workers, teachers and friends would bring me such joy along side my sadness.

What I'm wearing today...
Woke up, got in shower and changed right into Clean, fresh.....pajamas. Yup I knew it was going to be one of those days because I'm home with a sick hubby.

One of my simple pleasures...

My Momma

This is My Momma...

                            Jenny Ascension Muniz
                    August 15, 1942 - January 17, 2011

 My Momma...
the most caring, selfless, fun, unique and crazy lady I have ever known. She spent her life giving all that she had while also fighting demons that I will never know of and the ones I do know of  I will never understand. I do know she always tried her best and Always put others before her ALWAYS. Even when some of those the closest to her broke her heart the most. I am ashamed to say I was always a daddy's girl and  I never took the time to see how very much I am exactly like her in so many ways even the way I look. I never saw until she was gone. In big things and in small ...Almost daily I see my hands working and I see her hands not my own. As a child I could not understand so many choices she made, but now as an adult and a mother I see it clearly. It hurts so bad to know I cant pick up the phone and call her. During her last trip to visit me We had a long talk  I will always cherish, She told me she was sorry for a lot of things and That she was so amazed and proud of the person, wife and momma I had become. When I close my eyes and think of her I smile, and usually laugh. I can see her  running off... usually barefoot to go help someone with a ride, to take them money or food. I see her and my Dad dancing and laughing, while she would sing Tweedlee Dee to him by Laverne Baker. I see her making others laugh with her crazy sayings like "drunker than scooter brown"  and if she didn't like something she would walk away while flipping you off Yup...no sugar coating here. I can see her cooking Yummy foods in the kitchen, I see her sewing up my teddy bear for the hundredth time. But mostly how she was known, So many people we didn't know at her funeral spoke of her help and friendship. she was known for helping people Every Single Day! People She knew and Strangers too. I can remember her making Burritos and delivering to  Friends  she knew were lonely even the mail man and liquor store lady got one. She would go around to my Sisters, Aunts, Cousins and My Dads (they divorced but remained best friends)  homes, and pull weeds and tend to their Gardens, Collect Aluminum  cans and recycle for them. Leave a Dish of the food she knew was their favorite. And wash any dishes in the sink-That's how we Knew she had been for a visit. She would collect food and drive around and deliver it to People who could not get out or Neighbors she Knew were having a hard time.  I had the privilege of accompanying her on one of those trips and tear up every time I think of it, because I know these people appreciated the food but more so they craved the human interaction. She never left them without a smile.  She seemed to know everyone and would stop and talk to anyone (this is me) I laugh as I type this because I can hear my husband say -"You don't even know that person Row! T" Or If I hand cash to a homeless person I try to also give a hug with my hand and sometimes I cant help it but an actual hug- We don't know what the story is we only know they are struggling with their own demons. I often think one of my biggest faults is being to nice, I know I got this from my momma. and although her passing and a bit of hurts along the way in Life have made me at times, lock a gate around my heart I do try to let it open and carry on her ways, even if I really don't like pulling weeds lol  I miss you everyday momma.

On My Reading Pile... My Bible. hope to start a couple new books my  Daughter surprised  me with at Christmas: Boss Girl and Uninvited.

On my TV... after putting away all the Christmas movies we have been back to Netflix...
The Office -Wow there are a lot of episodes
The Crown- just finished re watching with my hubby - who now sometimes walks around talking like Winston Churchill - I'd say he liked the series lol
Gilmore Girls A year in the life- took us longer than expected but Just finished watching with my daughter, I think it seemed more musical and that turned me off a bit but I still enjoyed it. I Love that me & my Girl both clapped when Jess came out.
Land Girls- aka My Lunch date ha ha I just finished and Loved it!
 I just started...
Jane The Virgin - I wanted to see what all the hype was about...not sure if I will continue
Narcos - almost got though first episode, I thought it might be to violent for me but so far interesting.
I watched a few episode of  Women in prison  out of boredom, but it just made me sad.
Me & Hubby are starting Bridget Jones Diary I can't tell you how many times I've watched these...I never tire of them. I'm so glad Netflix re added.

On My To Do List... I am happy to say although as moms our to do list never ends I am pretty much caught up. I have been watching/joining Kimberly/StyleMomXO on You tube. and getting it done during my morning Power Hour!  I have found I am able to "let things go" and not feel guilty if I am not constantly cleaning something. I can fit/do about 7 items in an hour. and once I cross them off, It feels great to let myself breathe for the rest of the day. of course I still do my  morning/night routines and daily tasks like laundry, but this is the only way I have been able to SEE I have got things done and feel ok taking the rest of the day slow. Check out her channel https://youtu.be/T9G7JxEmRLY

What I am sewing, crocheting, knitting or creating...
just playing in my planner.

Looking around the house... I can smile and know I've done what I can for the day. but if I let myself I can also start thinking of all the projects I want to accomplish this Year.

From The Camera... wishful thinking...
