Happy Homemaker Monday 8.29.2016

Happy Homemaker Monday 8.29.2016

Hello Hope you had a great weekend ours was spent for the most part relaxing but we also got in some shopping, and we also went to what's called Minerpalooza a fun event held by our local university to kick-off the new school year.  We attend most years and this year I got to say was  different very crowded and the music was not my cup of tea, If its got a good beat and my daughter can dance to it and have a good time I am all for it but this year the guys performing  had big time potty mouths. call me old fashioned but is that really necessary? I will never understand it. and again I know you can't shield your children from all these kinds of things but it came to the point where it got pretty vulgar and I said we are outta here!
later that day I had my hubby laughing as I recited a scene from the breakfast club..."God did not put me on this green earth to be awakened by a foul mouth hooligan like you"

Weather...
Right now its a cool 70 degrees, we have had rain and I am loving it.

On my bedside table...
Books
Rosary
Lotion

On my TV...
I Watched Toy Story with my son on Saturday morning, You Tube videos with My daughter Sunday, and me and hubby stayed up late and had a movie night at home...got to get those "dates" whenever you can and if that means cuddling up on couch you take it. We have been busy running around and since we have a high school senior, our date budget pretty much goes out the window, but no complaints from us. We picked up some wine (a beer for hubby) chocolate, snacks you know your basic junk food, hubby rented My big fat Greek wedding II and we had a cozy night in. loved everything except the wine I went with the Moscato that was on sale and momma was not happy.  I'm not a wine coinsurer but I should of stuck with what I know which is a very short list of wines I know I like... hum funny how a TV list turned into wine list lol and yes I guess I am cheap wine kind of gal all wines are under $10 If  you like wine please share what you recommend.

 Thinking and pondering:...
How this world has changed, My daughters school does not hold a Sadie Hawkins dance but today they are having Gender Bender day, My daughter didn't participate but one of her good buddies did, he borrowed one of Bella's blouses then ended up not wearing it-Bellas said boy if he was a girl he would be high maintenance. I am wondering how the day is going for him.

Listening to...
KLOVE,  skipping around on my spotify playlists stuff like Claire de Lune, 80's new wave and  as always The Little Women Soundtrack. I listen to it all year long,

Devotionals, Scripture Reading, Key Verses...
1 Kings 3:11-14
And God said to him, " Because you have asked this, and have not asked for yourself long life or riches or the life of your enemies, but have asked for yourself understanding to discern what is right, behold I now do according to your word. Behold I give you a wise and discerning mind, so that none like you has been before you and none like you shall arise after you. I give you also what you have not asked, both riches and honor, so that no other king shall compare with you, all your days. And if you will walk in my ways, keeping my statutes and my commandments, as your father David walked, then I will lengthen your days."

Good Morning,

We had planned on visiting some family and friends this weekend but Life happens...We actually had a flood warning this Sunday so we couldn't of went out as planned either way. We did have Family Bible Study around the table, I love Church but I love time in the word with my family at home too. it makes my heart smile to see them grow in faith.

Weather ...
Not bad, at least a lot cooler and I am loving the rain.

On my bedside table...
Bible, Devotionals, about five books, and Kindle, my Bath & Body Works  lotion; Sleep. night time tea. Have you tried it? I love the smell.

On my TV...
Me and My daughter watched twilight actually the second one I cant keep track of the titles, She is always so busy with school so it was great to have a little bonding time over the weekend.
Me and hubby watched No Country for old men - Not sure about this one, the main guy was pretty creepy and the ending...Lord I do not like bad endings. :::rolling eyes:::
The family watched One of the star wars episodes again I have no clue my son picked and I watched we also started pay it forward.
Thinking about...
Too many things... Our Daughter is a senior and almost 18 and I feel its all coming at once, senior year, photos, class ring, homecoming, prom,18th birthday, graduation, college. so many events going on at school and in life the days are flying. My Son will be starting his second year My daughter her last of RCIA and I wonder why we waited so long. I miss my family in Ca. We just celebrated my Mother & My oldest sister's birthday. they both have passed and its always bitter sweet. There is so much I want to do. I have to stop, catch my breath and Give it all to God. I know it will all work out in the end.

Listening to...
The birds chirping outside, the sound of a neighbors broom, the dogs are snoring and the fan lightly hums. while the little women soundtrack plays softly in the background of it all.

Favorite Youtube Video last week...
Oh that is a loaded question as I am addicted to YouTube
I enjoy mostly homey videos, I haven't had a chance to watch as much but I did finish one of my favorites...She's in her Apron.
then this morning when I couldn't sleep I found myself watching mug/rug candle mat tutorials. A girl can dream cant she. Someday I'll make one. or most likely buy one hee hee

On my to do list today and this week....
I've got to get rid of my old washer, rearrange garage to make room for  delivery of new machine, which I know will lead to cleaning out again, and condensing  which will probably lead to a garage sale and a trip to goodwill. I have a feeling it's going to be a "If you give a mouse a cookie"  type of week for me lol

 My New washing Machine!

Looking around the house....
not bad

From the camera....
My Daughter with friends at her Senior Sunrise...

Fireworks after the baseball game...

We walked around downtown after the game, our daughter was also here celebrating her good friends 17th birthday, They had dinner, watched a movie during the film festival, walked around the plaza taking photos and had a sleep over. not an easy task for this overprotective momma.
did I mention the movie was the rocky horror picture show. yup, breathe momma breathe!

I love the new plaza and how it brought so many people out at night...

one last look from the parking garage...

On my prayer list.....
Usual Family Prayers and for my daughter who just informed me of her yearly Engineering project..to invent (and build) something that's not invented yet. we have ideas but to build it would be expensive. What the heck - every time we turn around students or the school needs money. and she's a senior this year so yeah we are already budgeting for things like photos, proms, and her 18th birthday. I hate money lol

Bible Verse, Devotional....

Oh Lord, you have searched me and you know me.
You know when I sit and when I rise;
you perceive my thoughts from afar.
You discern my going out and my lying down;
you are familiar with all my ways.
Psalm 139:1-3

Dogs cozy and napping
A box of Hostess Cupcakes are calling to me : )

From the camera...
My Daughter was in Austin for her Robotics Competition, We got to watch it live online. She updated us with texts daily.

I Love the photo below because my daughter was "speaking her mind" to the refs  lol
I asked her about it and she told me
"Something had to be said but nobody wanted to say it, So I did."
I like it because she will always sick up for other kids but for herself she  is usually quiet and lets most things go, she is learning to be more vocal in that sense, and I am proud of her for it.

We attended the Harry Potter midnight Release party at Barns and Noble. So Fun! I Loved all the events but especially the costume contest.  Here are a few photos of my favorites...
