The Weather...
Well the last time I was outside was Saturday and it was a brief walk from the car into the Doctors office but it was a beautiful day lol

On my reading pile...
I say at least 3 books. When I have energy I am slowly reading Where the river ends by Charles Martin. It was recommended by a sweet IG friend and I am so glad I picked it up. cute side note: My wonderful husband read to me from it last night :::awe::: these are the little things that make my heart go pitter patter...I Love him! He has been taking such good care of me.

On my TV:::
Finally Finished The Office I can't believe how much I got into this show that I once thought "I would never watch that" I fell in Love with the characters ...Love/Hate but still there is love.
and another one I felt the same about was Jane the Virgin despite a certain MIL ( I got though it) I am Loving this show.

My first thought was ask the hubby lol
This is the first week in a lonnnnng time I am sort of winging it, I know what I have and I just let hubby know you can make this or that or pick something up and I've got to say he has been so good about making dinner. Last night we had Spaghetti, Tonight it's Chicken and we will just go with the flow till I am back on my feet. and just look at what my wonderful MIL sent me the other day...Pozole one of my favorite dishes that she makes. She is an Angel.

On my to do list...

Happy Homemaker Monday 1.23.2017

Happy Homemaker Monday 1.23.2017

Good Morning, I hope you had a great weekend. We did not do much. My daughter had a lot of studying to do and my hubby has been under the weather.  So we mostly stayed close to home relaxing, watching movies and of course football. I think at least for myself I needed to just take it easy - It has been a tough start this month. We celebrated both my FIL and Mommas anniversaries and just attended two funerals in one week. My hubby's aunt and a Dear Friend of mine.

The Weather... right now its a sunny 45 degrees, very nice day.
This weekend was very windy along with lots and lots of rain.

On my reading pile... My Bible

On my T.V....
I am still re-watched a couple of shows and movies with hubby after kids are in bed.
  • Longmire
  • An Unfinished life
  • Jane Got A Gun
The last two I stumbled upon and so glad I did, they are really good. Check them out if your looking for a good Netflix movie. Do you notice a cowboy/western theme? unintentional but I do love a good western, probably because I grew up watching them with my Dad. My hubby I would say is not into westerns but he liked both of these movies and is still into Longmire- 3 in a row! I feel like I should win a prize. Now if I can just get him to watch Gunsmoke, Bonanza, and The Rifleman I'd be a happy camper.

On the menu this week...
M - Breaded baked chicken with potatoes and green beans
T - Taco Salads
W- Chicken Enchiladas with Mexican Rice & Refried Beans
T - Picadillo with Sopa
F - Chinese or Pizza (depending if we stay in or go out)

On my to do list...
Take care of and baby hubby who is home sick, so besides Laundry not sure how much I will get done, but on list is...
Laundry: All bedding, blankets, whites and towels.
Dust/Windex
Sweep & Mop Floors
Vacuum
Bathrooms: swish & swipe/Sinks and counters
I had planned on cleaning out linen closet and rearranging some holiday tubs in garage but I think I'll hold off till tomorrow.

What I am sewing, crocheting, knitting or creating...
Not much at all, I have been trying to get going so to speak on my "me time" but have been in a funk...
Planner: I am struggling with planner peace, wanting to try switching to a TN since I love the Planner Perfect method, but 1. I LOVE lists and use everyday. 2. I can not bring myself to spend so much cash on a TN (until I know Ill use it) and 3. I already have started using my recollections and do not want to waste inserts.
Bible Study: - I still do on my own every morning and WWL but I am missing my ladies...I'm part of a group of wonderful ladies (Plan Live Love Ministries) I usually watch Live on Periscope but have had to watch re-plays two days I've not been home and the other days Periscope would not work for me -wouldn't load correctly.
Crochet: Have picked up twice. : (

Looking around the house... clean but missing our Christmas tree
I am late in putting up decorations for valentines day. I was going to try to do today but maybe tomorrow.

 From the camera...
Nada...I know I'm in a funk if I haven't even picked up my camera or taken any photos.

Something fun to share...
Although this past week was pretty sad I did find many blessings in that we got to see family that we have not seen in a long time - also I use to work at an Elementary School- that's where I met my dear friend Cindy. She was sooooo Loved I knew it would be a packed house but I didn't think that seeing so many of my past co workers, teachers and friends would bring me such joy along side my sadness.

What I'm wearing today...
Woke up, got in shower and changed right into Clean, fresh.....pajamas. Yup I knew it was going to be one of those days because I'm home with a sick hubby.

One of my simple pleasures...

My Momma

This is My Momma...

                            Jenny Ascension Muniz
                    August 15, 1942 - January 17, 2011

 My Momma...
the most caring, selfless, fun, unique and crazy lady I have ever known. She spent her life giving all that she had while also fighting demons that I will never know of and the ones I do know of  I will never understand. I do know she always tried her best and Always put others before her ALWAYS. Even when some of those the closest to her broke her heart the most. I am ashamed to say I was always a daddy's girl and  I never took the time to see how very much I am exactly like her in so many ways even the way I look. I never saw until she was gone. In big things and in small ...Almost daily I see my hands working and I see her hands not my own. As a child I could not understand so many choices she made, but now as an adult and a mother I see it clearly. It hurts so bad to know I cant pick up the phone and call her. During her last trip to visit me We had a long talk  I will always cherish, She told me she was sorry for a lot of things and That she was so amazed and proud of the person, wife and momma I had become. When I close my eyes and think of her I smile, and usually laugh. I can see her  running off... usually barefoot to go help someone with a ride, to take them money or food. I see her and my Dad dancing and laughing, while she would sing Tweedlee Dee to him by Laverne Baker. I see her making others laugh with her crazy sayings like "drunker than scooter brown"  and if she didn't like something she would walk away while flipping you off Yup...no sugar coating here. I can see her cooking Yummy foods in the kitchen, I see her sewing up my teddy bear for the hundredth time. But mostly how she was known, So many people we didn't know at her funeral spoke of her help and friendship. she was known for helping people Every Single Day! People She knew and Strangers too. I can remember her making Burritos and delivering to  Friends  she knew were lonely even the mail man and liquor store lady got one. She would go around to my Sisters, Aunts, Cousins and My Dads (they divorced but remained best friends)  homes, and pull weeds and tend to their Gardens, Collect Aluminum  cans and recycle for them. Leave a Dish of the food she knew was their favorite. And wash any dishes in the sink-That's how we Knew she had been for a visit. She would collect food and drive around and deliver it to People who could not get out or Neighbors she Knew were having a hard time.  I had the privilege of accompanying her on one of those trips and tear up every time I think of it, because I know these people appreciated the food but more so they craved the human interaction. She never left them without a smile.  She seemed to know everyone and would stop and talk to anyone (this is me) I laugh as I type this because I can hear my husband say -"You don't even know that person Row! T" Or If I hand cash to a homeless person I try to also give a hug with my hand and sometimes I cant help it but an actual hug- We don't know what the story is we only know they are struggling with their own demons. I often think one of my biggest faults is being to nice, I know I got this from my momma. and although her passing and a bit of hurts along the way in Life have made me at times, lock a gate around my heart I do try to let it open and carry on her ways, even if I really don't like pulling weeds lol  I miss you everyday momma.

Happy Homemaker Monday 1.9.2017

Happy Homemaker Monday 1.9.2017
(On a Tuesday)

Good Morning and Happy New Year!
I am happy to be back after taking December off for family time. I hope you all had wonderful Holidays.
Liking up with Sandra at Diary Of A Stay At Home Mom for HHM http://familycorner.blogspot.com/

The Weather... I would love some snow but mostly we've been in the high 60s

On My Reading Pile... My Bible. hope to start a couple new books my  Daughter surprised  me with at Christmas: Boss Girl and Uninvited.

On my TV... after putting away all the Christmas movies we have been back to Netflix...
The Office -Wow there are a lot of episodes
The Crown- just finished re watching with my hubby - who now sometimes walks around talking like Winston Churchill - I'd say he liked the series lol
Gilmore Girls A year in the life- took us longer than expected but Just finished watching with my daughter, I think it seemed more musical and that turned me off a bit but I still enjoyed it. I Love that me & my Girl both clapped when Jess came out.
Land Girls- aka My Lunch date ha ha I just finished and Loved it!
 I just started...
Jane The Virgin - I wanted to see what all the hype was about...not sure if I will continue
Narcos - almost got though first episode, I thought it might be to violent for me but so far interesting.
I watched a few episode of  Women in prison  out of boredom, but it just made me sad.
Me & Hubby are starting Bridget Jones Diary I can't tell you how many times I've watched these...I never tire of them. I'm so glad Netflix re added.
this is a lot of TV for me but I somehow still miss my ME TV westerns but hope to be back in the swing of things soon.

On the Menu for this week...
Monday- Pizza a surprise from my SIL : )
Tuesday- Chicken Tacos
Wednesday- Pulled Pork Sandwiches
Thursday- Dinner with Family-Celebrating my Late FIL
Friday- Fish

On My To Do List... I am happy to say although as moms our to do list never ends I am pretty much caught up. I have been watching/joining Kimberly/StyleMomXO on You tube. and getting it done during my morning Power Hour!  I have found I am able to "let things go" and not feel guilty if I am not constantly cleaning something. I can fit/do about 7 items in an hour. and once I cross them off, It feels great to let myself breathe for the rest of the day. of course I still do my  morning/night routines and daily tasks like laundry, but this is the only way I have been able to SEE I have got things done and feel ok taking the rest of the day slow. Check out her channel https://youtu.be/T9G7JxEmRLY

What I am sewing, crocheting, knitting or creating...
just playing in my planner.

Looking around the house... I can smile and know I've done what I can for the day. but if I let myself I can also start thinking of all the projects I want to accomplish this Year.

From The Camera... wishful thinking...

Something fun to share...
I Love this! Hubby does voice over of wife's cleaning routine
Love Meg on You Tube...

As I look outside my window... Chilly 59 degrees

Right now I am...taking a break while I drink my coffee

Thinking and pondering... So happy one of my Sisters will be traveling here to spend Thanksgiving.

On my bedside table... My Bible

On my TV... Drawing a blank lol haven't had time I guess bits and pieces of the office cant wait for Gilmore Girls!

Playing on the radio... KLOVE

  On my to do list...
Finish my sons room, finish getting house ready for guests. put up Christmas or at least tree.

What I am sewing, crocheting, knitting or creating:::
I haven't had time

My simple pleasure... Prayer and Music and lots of coffee

Lesson learned the past week...
continue to know that I can do all though Christ who gives me strength. It is so true that if you commit your work to the lord you will succeed. im sure it seems so silly to those that do not have a relationship with the lord but even or I should say especially the little things get done if I just ask for energy and to have a productive day.

Looking around the house...:::covers eyes:::

From the camera...
My daughter sent me these photos from a close friends princess party. She had not one but 5 princesses! also a photo of my daughter and our God Son.

 Prayer List...
Safe Travels for all those on the road for the holidays

Happy Homemaker Monday 11.14.2016

Linking up with Sandra at Diary of a Stay at Home Mom http://familycorner.blogspot.com/

The weather outside is...
 It's a sunny 55 degrees : )

On the breakfast plate this morning...
A very early bowl of cornflakes. Right now I am having coffee and will probably have an egg sandwich soon.

As I look outside my window...
It is a beautiful cool morning, The flowers are blowing in the breeze and I hear birds chirping.

Right now I am...

Starting to lose my energy... enter cup #2 of coffee : )

As I look around the house...
My Husband and Son are working on floors so all my sons furniture, etc. has been moved into the living room. The way I would describe it is what I imagine the beginning of a  hoarders house looks like or Lanes House from Gilmore Girls. I Cant wait to get furniture back to where it belongs.

On today's to do list...
My List is too long-mostly to do with Thanksgiving prep. but today is Wash: sheets, blankets, towels day. and pick up I've already done kitchen, so just the usual swish & swipe of bathrooms, vacuum, and Dust/Windex around home.

 Happening this week...
New floors in sons room, put furniture back in and help him re arrange room. take out everything from kitchen cabinets clean and put back in. oh...Clean & Organize all the things. It seems Spring Cleaning comes at least 3 times a year and it competes with that bomb that likes to go off at least once a month. I honestly don't know how (or will I ever be like)  some women have immaculate homes 24/7 or all white everything and not a smudge to be seen. I feel If I stop for one day it just piles up but you know that's ok because it's real life.

Currently reading...
The Bible

On the TV today...

Other than possible shows with family and maybe Longmire with hubby I'm taking a break from TV after all the election coverage I do not want to even turn on a TV. I will say I just binge watched the whole first season of the Crown in 4 days OH MY! was it good! I really hope they add a second season soon on Netflix.
(Thanks for the recommendation Billie Jo) The show has me wanting to read more about the royal family. if you haven't watched it  I highly recommend it.

 On the menu this week...
Monday - Tostadas
Tuesday - Ribs in c/p with Coca-Cola
Wednesday - Enchiladas
Thursday - ?
Friday - Pizza
Saturday - ?
Sunday - ?

What I am creating at the moment...
Lists...lots of Lists. and my planner

New recipe I tried or want to try this week...
 A pasta dish from IG

Favorite photo from the camera...
I Love to see my husband teaching my son new things. Here they are installing new flooring in Adams room. His carpet had to be replaced due to a water heater leak.

My Baby Boy turned 14 on Nov. 10  per his request we just had a small family get together. It is like pulling teeth getting him to tell us what he wants. This boy hardly ever asks for anything, and if he does its something like Gum or a new Xbox and he usually puts big items only on his Christmas list. Now my daughter She could rattle off ten things a day! (and five of them would be book titles lol)  now I understand why some people say
"Boys are so much easier"

Happy Homemaker Monday 11.7.2016

Happy Homemaker Monday Wednesday

A very late HHM:
I do not like being late but sometimes I am very early for things and then end up being late. Does that ever happen to you? Well I could either forget about it or go on and today...I'm going to go on...

Happy Homemaker Monday - 11.7.2016

Well Helllloooo Friends,

I hope you had a Happy Halloween. Mine was different than I am use to because my "babies"  (13&17) did not dress up or go trick or treating.  : (  I tried but they just didn't feel it this year.
*If I would of known I would of had us dress up for my God Sons Birthday party but I am grateful I got them all to at least wear Charlie Brown Shirts...

We still had our usual Pizza & Halloween Movies night but I REALLY missed the costumes and trick or treating, even if we just go to neighbors, family and a few close friends homes. I just felt a bit sad thinking about how my children are big kids now. I even tried telling Bella but next year you will officially be an adult!  She didn't buy it. lol

 http://familycorner.blogspot.com/

The weather outside is...
getting cooler : ) Hubby came home after work last night and converted our A/C back to heat.
I could of waited another week because I usually get hot during the day but I left it up to him.
more so because I don't want to be the reason we are cold in the mornings lol

On the breakfast plate...
I have been doing better about eating breakfast. Today I had Coffee, Toast and a Banana but on other days I am craving a breakfast like this...
and I must confess on this day I had already had a small breakfast and this was my 2nd breakfast :::blush:::  yup I'm buying a hobbit house next door to  Pippin & Merry (LOTR)

As I look outside my window...
It is very quiet and still

Right now I am...

Taking a break waiting for Bible Study to start
(see I am way to early)

As I look around the house...
I am happy it's clean but still debating going full on Christmas décor mode or putting up very simple Thanksgiving.

On today's to do list...
Cleaning out sons room so we can start pulling up rug and get on with the install of flooring. my back is sore just thinking about it.

Happening this week...
Starting floors, going though garage & closets- Candle Lighters called and said they would be in area next weekend and lets be honest we can all find something to de clutter.

Currently Reading...
Bible...have a small stack of books waiting to be read. and going to bookstore today to buy another Christmas book that I will hold off starting.

On the TV today...
Not much I couldn't turn away from election coverage but finally turned it off an hour ago. I do have a few recommendations I want to watch on Netflix but I haven't been able to stay up the last few nights.

 On the menu this week...
Monday - Steaks, Potato's and Green salad
Tuesday - Spaghetti
Wednesday - 8 can soup
Thursday - Pizza party with family for my Sons 14th Birthday
Friday - Crock Pot meal? smothered pork chops or pulled pork
Saturday - Caldo de Res
Sunday - Crock Pot meal?  Roast either garlic or with veggies

What I am creating at the moment..
I received some Happy Mail from a very sweet friend on IG who was de-stashing her planner stickers, so of course I had to back track and add them to my Halloween week lol  and also...
Planner Ribbon Clips me and my daughter started making (just a few) for Halloween, so we could attach to goodies for her friends, then we made in school colors, then I made some  homemade cookies for a volunteer luncheon and made a couple for a good friend of mine, then one of my sons teachers. and now I cant stop...We are starting on Thanksgiving & Christmas colors.

New recipe I tried or want to try this week...
Homemade Bread if I can remember to pick up the yeast!

Favorite photo from the camera...
Good bye Halloween...
