Happy Homemaker Monday 7.11.2016

Hello My Friends,
Hope you all had a great weekend and forth of July! I wasn't able to Blog last HHM I planned to take lots of photos but as usual was too busy Living in the moment (and eating A Lot!) No regrets! We are usually in California during this time, but we did have a get together at our place. Which means no fireworks other than "poppers" My MIL was the last guest to leave, We watched a Rod Stewart concert with her and she loved it! My late FIL was a fan and his music always reminds us of him - one of there songs is "Have I told you lately that I love you"  AWE! I did manage to get one photo before we took G home. isn't she cute?
Now on to HHM!

linking up with Sandra over at Diary Of A Stay At Home Mom:

The Weather...
Hot Hot  Hot! right now its 99 degrees!  High is 102  it is supposed to get up to 109 this week. I do not like this weather I cant wait for fall.

On my reading pile...
I enjoyed The Shunning so I am now reading Beverly Lewis' The Covenant. And of course a Little House book I never tire of these stories. I Love the illustrations.

On my TV...
Netflix!
Started to watch the series TURN had to stop because it shows PG13 well IT'S NOT! what has become of this world? is nothing precious anymore? and why is it the inappropriate parts seem to start fast without warning just BAM in your face. My daughter is not a baby she is 17 but she is a good girl and I would like to keep her that way for as long as possible. I know many teens even kids have become desensitized watching what has become "the norm" but not this mom - I do not like or go along with - for lack of better words "the whole Kardashian life style"  I know some parents think its ok for their children to watch and do whatever and that's fine...
to each their own but as for me - Never will. true story:  a mom I know put on Magic Mike for her kids and one was seven! call me old fashioned but this is not ok with me.
p.s. before you get all upset please see above *to each their own. I learned my lesson by making the mistake of going along with a couple other moms on a topic sort of like this years ago. and Now I either keep quiet or make sure to add this is how I feel or I would not be able to do that with my kids. maybe it wont have an effect on them -maybe it will. but I'm not taking any chances. I am an over protective mom and proud of it!

OK how did what I'm watching turn (no pun intended) into this?
any who I also watched The Fundamentals of Caring- actually liked it.
and watched The Twilight Zone with family. We watched Talking Tina and the one where the sun was getting close to earth- which is what the weather here feels like to me...I'm melting!
I am waiting for Tallulah to start.

On the menu for this week...

Monday - Pork Chops
Tuesday -  Dinner at G's or Restaurant  for her 81rst Birthday!
Wednesday - C/P Chicken
Thursday - Pasta chicken salad
Friday - Pizza
Saturday - ??? BBQ if not too hot

On my to do list...
All the things lol
Our washer might need to be replaced so I am holding off on Laundry, which kills me because I try to keep on top of it. I do not like it when it piles up and I like routine.

What I am sewing, crocheting, knitting or creating...
Just playing in my planners. I am posting some pics for Carrie over at northwoodsscrapbook.blogspot.com

Do any of you use Planners? I am a huge planner and list maker I like to have things written out and crossed off, it took me along time to get into this type of planner till I found it is fun & an amazing creative outlet for me as I am not an artist. Also because I couldn't see spending money on it as I am on a tight budget, but then I did some research and you would be amazed how many free and affordable options are out there. here are a couple examples...

victoriathatcher.com

try putting "planner" in the IG search box... you will be amazed : ) Happy Planning! let me know if you try it.

Looking around the house...
Not bad but there is always something that can be done. Honestly it is too hot and I am only doing what's necessary today lol

From the camera...
We had a great Week and weekend. We had our God Son for a day, He is such a good baby not one fuss from him! We Got to take him to his Gymboree class-so cute! took him around town - one stop was Barnes and Noble where I read to him, reminded me of when we use to take my babies now we don't really head to the kid section its just the teen section and the cafĂ©.

On my prayer list...
All officers everywhere, unspoken & usual family prayers.

Something that inspires or brings a smile to your face...
waiting on cooler weather my son a few years back playing in the snow.

  6. Sorry I'm so late catching up dear Friend!

I'm with you about kiddos watching things that aren't appropriate. So many of my kids' friends watch horror movies etc. We have talked about the darkness that is part of so much of that & my kiddos both have no interest in watching any inappropriate things.

And I LOVED seeing your planners! Brilliant! I love planners & use one too. But never thought to be so creative & fun with it. Thanks for sharing and the wonderful idea!!

    Blessings. Xoxo

  7. You are not old fashioned. Thank goodness there are still people who care about the garbage their children see. Kudos to you. Makes me question whether kids should ever attend sleepovers if any parent thinks a movie like Magic Mike is appropriate. Unreal.
