http://familycorner.blogspot.com/

The weather.....
in the 9o's but feels more like triple digits.

Right now I am....
In my kitchen relaxing with an ice cold glass of water.

Thinking....
That I had a very unproductive day, I felt under the weather all day and nothing has seemed to help, I missed my Bible study (new time) have just had an off day.

On my reading pile....
finishing up The Covenant by Beverly Lewis
and starting Knit Together by Debbie Macomber

On my TV.....
My all American
The in laws
Malcolm in the middle

On the menu for this week....

Monday - Chicken Pasta Salad
Tuesday -  Taco Tuesday
Wednesday - C/P meal
Thursday - Fish, baked potato, salad
Friday -  Pizza
Saturday - Spaghetti
Sunday - ???

On my to do list today and this week....
I've got to get rid of my old washer, rearrange garage to make room for  delivery of new machine, which I know will lead to cleaning out again, and condensing  which will probably lead to a garage sale and a trip to goodwill. I have a feeling it's going to be a "If you give a mouse a cookie"  type of week for me lol
Usual chores
Dust/Windex
Sweep/Mop
cooking/dishes
restrooms

In the craft basket....
What Craft Basket? lol

I did pick up some new supplies...I have a slight pen addiction : ) I am loving these new Paper Mate ink joy gel pens they write so smooth...they are like butter! and cant wait to try the flairs.

Looking forward to this week....

 My New washing Machine!

Looking around the house....
not bad

From the camera....
My Daughter with friends at her Senior Sunrise...

Fireworks after the baseball game...

We walked around downtown after the game, our daughter was also here celebrating her good friends 17th birthday, They had dinner, watched a movie during the film festival, walked around the plaza taking photos and had a sleep over. not an easy task for this overprotective momma.
did I mention the movie was the rocky horror picture show. yup, breathe momma breathe!

I love the new plaza and how it brought so many people out at night...

one last look from the parking garage...

On my prayer list.....
Usual Family Prayers and for my daughter who just informed me of her yearly Engineering project..to invent (and build) something that's not invented yet. we have ideas but to build it would be expensive. What the heck - every time we turn around students or the school needs money. and she's a senior this year so yeah we are already budgeting for things like photos, proms, and her 18th birthday. I hate money lol

Bible Verse, Devotional....

Oh Lord, you have searched me and you know me.
You know when I sit and when I rise;
you perceive my thoughts from afar.
You discern my going out and my lying down;
you are familiar with all my ways.
Psalm 139:1-3

My Daughter was in Austin for her Robotics Competition, We got to watch it live online. She updated us with texts daily.

I Love the photo below because my daughter was "speaking her mind" to the refs  lol
I asked her about it and she told me
"Something had to be said but nobody wanted to say it, So I did."
I like it because she will always sick up for other kids but for herself she  is usually quiet and lets most things go, she is learning to be more vocal in that sense, and I am proud of her for it.

We attended the Harry Potter midnight Release party at Barns and Noble. So Fun! I Loved all the events but especially the costume contest.  Here are a few photos of my favorites...

What usually happens is the day fly's by and I will only sit down if kids put a movie on during Lunch and after Dinner When we all sit down together to watch a movie or show. But I have to tell we started Stranger Things and ended up Binge watching it- Very Good! sort of like the movie Super 8

Happy Homemaker Monday 7.11.2016

Hello My Friends,
Hope you all had a great weekend and forth of July! I wasn't able to Blog last HHM I planned to take lots of photos but as usual was too busy Living in the moment (and eating A Lot!) No regrets! We are usually in California during this time, but we did have a get together at our place. Which means no fireworks other than "poppers" My MIL was the last guest to leave, We watched a Rod Stewart concert with her and she loved it! My late FIL was a fan and his music always reminds us of him - one of there songs is "Have I told you lately that I love you"  AWE! I did manage to get one photo before we took G home. isn't she cute?
Now on to HHM!

linking up with Sandra over at Diary Of A Stay At Home Mom:

The Weather...
Hot Hot  Hot! right now its 99 degrees!  High is 102  it is supposed to get up to 109 this week. I do not like this weather I cant wait for fall.

On my reading pile...
I enjoyed The Shunning so I am now reading Beverly Lewis' The Covenant. And of course a Little House book I never tire of these stories. I Love the illustrations.

On my TV...
Netflix!
Started to watch the series TURN had to stop because it shows PG13 well IT'S NOT! what has become of this world? is nothing precious anymore? and why is it the inappropriate parts seem to start fast without warning just BAM in your face. My daughter is not a baby she is 17 but she is a good girl and I would like to keep her that way for as long as possible. I know many teens even kids have become desensitized watching what has become "the norm" but not this mom - I do not like or go along with - for lack of better words "the whole Kardashian life style"  I know some parents think its ok for their children to watch and do whatever and that's fine...
to each their own but as for me - Never will. true story:  a mom I know put on Magic Mike for her kids and one was seven! call me old fashioned but this is not ok with me.
p.s. before you get all upset please see above *to each their own. I learned my lesson by making the mistake of going along with a couple other moms on a topic sort of like this years ago. and Now I either keep quiet or make sure to add this is how I feel or I would not be able to do that with my kids. maybe it wont have an effect on them -maybe it will. but I'm not taking any chances. I am an over protective mom and proud of it!

OK how did what I'm watching turn (no pun intended) into this?
any who I also watched The Fundamentals of Caring- actually liked it.
and watched The Twilight Zone with family. We watched Talking Tina and the one where the sun was getting close to earth- which is what the weather here feels like to me...I'm melting!
I am waiting for Tallulah to start.

On the menu for this week...

Monday - Pork Chops
Tuesday -  Dinner at G's or Restaurant  for her 81rst Birthday!
Wednesday - C/P Chicken
Thursday - Pasta chicken salad
Friday - Pizza
Saturday - ??? BBQ if not too hot

On my to do list...
All the things lol
Our washer might need to be replaced so I am holding off on Laundry, which kills me because I try to keep on top of it. I do not like it when it piles up and I like routine.

What I am sewing, crocheting, knitting or creating...
Just playing in my planners. I am posting some pics for Carrie over at northwoodsscrapbook.blogspot.com

Do any of you use Planners? I am a huge planner and list maker I like to have things written out and crossed off, it took me along time to get into this type of planner till I found it is fun & an amazing creative outlet for me as I am not an artist. Also because I couldn't see spending money on it as I am on a tight budget, but then I did some research and you would be amazed how many free and affordable options are out there. here are a couple examples...

victoriathatcher.com

try putting "planner" in the IG search box... you will be amazed : ) Happy Planning! let me know if you try it.

Looking around the house...
Not bad but there is always something that can be done. Honestly it is too hot and I am only doing what's necessary today lol

From the camera...
We had a great Week and weekend. We had our God Son for a day, He is such a good baby not one fuss from him! We Got to take him to his Gymboree class-so cute! took him around town - one stop was Barnes and Noble where I read to him, reminded me of when we use to take my babies now we don't really head to the kid section its just the teen section and the café.

All officers everywhere, unspoken & usual family prayers.

Something that inspires or brings a smile to your face...

linking up with Sandra at Diary of a Stay At home Mom http://familycorner.blogspot.com/

Hello Hope you had a wonderful weekend.

Mine was good, Yesterday we were late waking into church - don't you hate when that happens. But I'd rather be late a few minutes than not go at all. Sundays or any day are so Awesome when you go to church. I always feel so good afterwards and it carries me though the week. I definitely feel it when we miss mass.

Friday we attended the Harry Potter "party"  at our Local Barnes and Noble. It was fun to see fans all dressed up in Happy Potter costumes and all the hands including my daughters shoot up during trivia contests. We tried the drink especially for the HP book Release...Passion Potion. Pretty good.

I am feeling so sluggish this morning, got 6 hrs. of sleep but even after coffee. I feel like a zombie. This momma might need a nap today.

The Weather... It's a nice 88 degrees right now, might get up to 91 I hope not!

I stayed up to late playing in planners with my daughter. We had planned to go to the Saturday planners class at Michaels craft store but the time flew and we decided to try and go to next months class. Are any of you planners? If you are, you know how addicting but fun it is. Doing something creative feels so good! even if its just planning out your days, playing with washi & stickers. even better if you get to do it with someone you love : )

Looking around the house...
Feeling accomplished, house tidy, My Son is reading, My daughter is still asleep, the dogs are laying by my feet : ) I can hear the hum of the fan and birds chirping outside.

From the camera...
Our home away from home

On my prayer list...
Family & Friends prayers as usual. Prayers of Thanksgiving...God is so good to us, Ask and he shall not only give...but give abundantly!

Something that inspires or brings a smile to your face...
My new fridge! our old one died after almost 16 years. The first one we replaced it with was not in stock for a week, then it didn't fit. We had to go back and pick another then wait for it to be delivered the next day, but Thank God it all got worked out. I am so happy to be done with using a cooler.

Oh and this too. My daughter cracking me up...playing around with computer at electronics store. I told her I still think she's pretty adorable and would make a great animated character : ) for some reason the bottom right photo reminds me of the lady in that kid movie about a bird - Rio : )
Have a great week! ~ Row.

Weekend with Fam Bam!

Our Weekend

Hello! How was your weekend? Mine was great. Since it was our somewhat official first weekend of break, because hubby had a rare Friday off,  and so did Bella. She is going to summer school and get this she signed up for it! she is our little overachiever. I cant complain because she is getting some college courses taken care of early. and her hard work ethic makes me so proud.

Every year we try to take advantage of the free summer concerts, in above photo we are chilling at our first event Alfresco Fridays watching Route 66 play Retro Music. I was excited thinking retro meant all 80s music but it was more 50's and such loved that they played some Beatles! They also played Tears for Fears but knowing my hubby is not a big fan of dancing especially in the very hot heat in front of a huge crowd, I looked to my daughter who said  "I am NOT dancing Mom" before I even asked lol
This from a girl who used to always drag me out as soon as she heard music! I guess the teenage years are kicking in late- she's almost an adult...and yes that is an adult beverage in my hand - if you know me you know I don't like beer but it was hot and I actually enjoyed it. I had better for what they were charging: knowing how hot it would be and also not allowing drinks in this was as my late Father In Law would call it...A Clip Joint!

After the show we walked over to the Newly Re-Constructed San Jacinto Plaza Where they also had bands playing music, It was getting late but we wanted to check it out and take some photos, cant wait to go back with my real camera and get some in the daytime.

She wont dance with her mama during the daytime outdoor concert but this girl will take pictures like nobody's business and don't even get me started on the selfies : )

I liked this building I couldn't help wonder why only two little lights on?

Parking garage view. Those purple lights are the freeway. I remember when my husbands God Daughter visited she said "What are they trying to make it cool now?" lol I always think of her as we pass.
I Love that they light it up with an American Flag. I was waiting for it to go all Purple for Prince but I guess lights on the freeway are as cool as we get.

Daughters last family Selfie as you can tell our children both look just like my hubby.
his friend says your poor wife all she did was birth them.
I hope you had a great weekend, Thanks for stopping by.
~Row.
